One of the most fearsome fast bowlers of his time, Brett Lee, is currently enjoying quality time with his family in Sydney. A part-time commentator since his international retirement, Brett recently played ‘front yard’ cricket Preston with his son and sent down the odd thunderbolt of a delivery.

In a video going viral on the internet, Brett can be seen bowling to his son on a shortened concrete pitch. The 46-year-old casually walked up to the crease before bowling a searing yorker to remove the middle stump out of the ground and almost crushed his son’s bare feet.

Brett was pleased with his effort as the ‘sound of timber’ erupted much to the joy of the former Aussie quick. He jogged down in joy, raising his fingers in the air.

Here’s the video:

Brett featured in 76 Tests, 221 ODIs and 25 T20Is, picking up 718 wickets. He announced his retirement from Test cricket in 2008 as Australia’s sixth-highest wicket-taker and from ODIs in 2012 as the joint-highest wicket-taker with 380 scalps, along with Glenn McGrath.

Brett, who had made his debut during the 1999 Boxing Day Test against India, also won two ICC Cricket World Cups with Australia – in 2003 and 2007. He will resume his commentary assignment with Fox Cricket with the fourth Ashes Test, which will begin on Wednesday (January 5) at the SCG.
