Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar lauded flashy all-rounder Hardik Pandya, saying his ability to execute under pressure is admirable.
Pandya was outstanding with both bat and ball in the Asia Cup match against archrival Pakistan on Sunday.

The 28-year-old caused havoc for Pakistan’s batters with his skillfully delivered short deliveries and took three wickets, including Mohammad Rizwan, who was an important wicket. He entered the game at a crucial point when Pakistan was seeking to recover with quick wickets, but Pandya’s composure enabled India to triumph spectacularly.

In the penultimate over, he hit three boundaries, dramatically turning the tide in India’s favour. He maintained composure in the final over and hit a six on the fourth ball to give India the victory. He had 33 runs off 17 balls and was still undefeated.
Sanjay Manjrekar praised Hardik Pandya’s calm under pressure:
The former India batsman praised Pandya’s all-round ability while also praising his cool under pressure.
“It was just his tranquility. I mean, everything about him right now is surreal. His bowling returns are incredible, which is nice and something you get with others as well. But he can stay calm and run under pressure,” Manjrekar stated on SPORTS18’s daily sports news broadcast ‘SPORTS OVER THE TOP.’

“That last over, yesterday night was a hard one, Hardik was in there and generally played the faster bowlers and he was hitting the path. There was a rhythm to striking against the quicker bowlers, but suddenly, Pakistan had to add the left-arm spinner, and Jadeja went out to the first delivery, leaving him with just four balls to score those runs,” Manjrekar continued.
Pandya was named the Player of the Match when India played Pakistan. He was undefeated on 33 off just 17 balls and took three wickets throughout the match.
